This site collects as little as possible. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking. Below you can read exactly what does happen.

When you use the contact form, I process your name, email address, subject and message. I use these details only to answer your question. Your message arrives in my inbox, and you receive an automatic confirmation by email.
When you sign up for the newsletter, I store your email address, together with the date, the IP address and the language of the sign-up. I keep the date and IP address as proof that the sign-up really came from you. I use your email address only to send you the newsletter.
When you reserve the deck 64 Gateways to Insight, I store your email address, together with the date, the IP address and the language of the reservation. I use your email address only to let you know when the deck is available.
To limit abuse of the forms, the server keeps track of how often a form is sent from the same IP address (at most five per hour). The IP address is stored only in hashed form for this purpose.
In addition, the forms use hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, Inc.) to tell real visitors apart from spam bots. hCaptcha is only loaded once you start filling in a form (on the homepage, the 64 Gateways to Insight page or the contact page). Visitors who do not use a form never come into contact with hCaptcha. To do its job, hCaptcha processes data such as your IP address and information about your browser. This is based on my legitimate interest in protecting the site and my inbox against abuse.
This site does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. It uses only functional cookies, which do not require consent:
The fonts are loaded from this server, not from Google or any other external service. As with any website, the hosting provider keeps server logs, including IP addresses, for security and troubleshooting.
This site contains links to other websites, such as Bookmundo for ordering books, and martijnvlamings.nl. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
You can always ask me which of your details I hold, and have them corrected or deleted. Just send an email to info@chinesewijsheid.nl. If you disagree with how I handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
